Why should I use you, and not this other produce delivery service?
While any organic, local produce delivery service is a great idea for everyone, ours comes with a whole lot more. With every box you order, you make it possible for an innocent orphan in Uganda to receive critical food and targeted nutritional therapy to reduce their suffering from having been born HIV+. This food and nutrition allows them to stay healthy, so they can work on their farms to grow crops to earn an income, so that eventually they become self sufficient, and no longer need your help. Your ongoing orders then go to help another child. So you see, this is a sustainable solution to a massive problem facing millions of innocent children. Not only that, but you are helping to educate others on the benefits of the right food and the right nutrition, right here in our back yard, by supporting this foundation and getting the research of Dr. Harold Foster out into the public, where it needs to be.

How soon can I receive my first box?
You must be registered by Thursday to receive your box on the following week.
Can I make any changes to my box?
Yes! We allow substitutions for both bread and/or eggs, as it does conflict with many people's diets. We make sure to give you a good variety of fruit and vegetables each week, so you have a very healthy, balanced meal for every day of the week!
Can I cancel my subscription whenever I want?
Of course! We don't want you to feel captive by any contract. All you have to do is send us an email, telling us you would like to no longer receive your box. That is why we only ask for a 4 box commitment up front, so once you've received 4 boxes, you can stop if you would like!
Can I buy only one box at a time?
You must purchase a minimum of 4 boxes a time. Most box delivery programs ask for a minimum of 10 boxes, but we want to make sure you are happy with what you are getting before you commit!
How do I pay?
The preferable way is by credit card. By signing up online here, you are set up to have your credit card automatically billed every month. Otherwise, you can pay by cheque (made out to Harold Foster Foundation) or cash, and either mail to our office or drop off. Remember, you need to pay in advance so please ensure we receive your payment in advance of your expected delivery date. *Payment must include a purchase of at least 4 boxes at a time!
What days do you deliver?

Where do you drop off the box?
If no instruction is given, we drop it off at the front door but we try to find a shaded area. Please clarify if you are in a basement suite, around back, etc, if you would like to receive the box elsewhere.
Do I need to be home when you drop the box off?
Nope!
Am I in the delivery "zone"?
We get this question alot. Basically, we deliver to the greater Victoria area. If you're not sure, send us an email and ask, and we'll let you know. We have a limited ability to deliver to the Westshore area, which we currently do, so contact us to find out if we can deliver to you. If you live outside the area, but work inside the area, we can deliver it to your work! Just let us know of any special buzzer numbers or what floor you work on, so we can find you easily.
If I am outside the delivery zone, can I still get a box?
Depending on how far out of the delivery zone you are, you must sign up with a minimum of at least 4 other families in that neighborhood (within a couple of blocks of each other), so it makes it worthwhile for the delivery crew to make the trip out there. Otherwise, please let us know that you are interested in signing up, as we may have a list of others just like you in your area waiting for enough customers. As soon as we have enough, we will contact you for registration, and begin delivery the following week.
If I go on vacation and need to skip a week, what happens?
Not a problem! Just make sure you let us know by Thursday, and we can skip the upcoming delivery (Monday) and you will receive credit for that week.
Is the produce organic?
Yes. All the produce we receive are from farmers who do not use any chemicals or Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). That said, they are not all "certified" organic. Many small farms don't bother to become "certified" as an organic farm because of the cost and hassle involved.
What comes in a box?
Each box will come with eggs, bread, fruits and vegetables. Normally you will receive between 4 to 10 different fruits and vegetables in your box, depending on the size chosen. Some items are more often included, like peppers and salad greens, whereas items like brussels sprouts, beets, etc are not as common, but the contents vary weekly and seasonally.
We love your service and what you do, how can I get more involved?
Contact us to discuss more fully, but here are a few suggestions: (1) Spread the word, become an advocate for choice, our research, and making sure it gets in to hands of people who need it (which is EVERYONE!) Talk to people you work with, to people in your neighbourhood, or your family. (2) for classroom and organization fundraisers which help your school eat healthy and raise money while promoting our service.
What if I receive an item in my delivery that I am not satisfied with?
Contact us via phone or email to let us know why you are not satisfied with it, and we will replace any unsatisfactory items in your next delivery. We guarantee our produce and strive to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Sometimes an apple may arrive with a bruise on it, or not shinny and perfectly symmetrical like you might find in stores that sell Genetically Modified, or sprayed, apples. Don't be alarmed, nature meant for them to look that way! Cosmetic surgery for your food is not something we recommend.
What if I am allergic or do not like certain items?
If you don't like something in your box, then a great thing to do is to give it to your neighbour! He or she would likely appreciate it. We have exceptionally low prices and the more we try and make custom changes, the more likely it is that we'll need to adjust prices to accomodate. You can let us know what you never want to receive in your box, and we'll do our best to swap that item with something else. We deliver the food within hours of receiving it from the farmers, so we can't give you advance notice of what's coming. The other thing to keep in mind is that really healthy foods that aren't necessarily your favourite food, can be 'hidden' in a stew or stir fry, giving you the nutrition and variety of food your body needs. Eating the same foods over and over again can often times lead to a food allergy, so it is advisable to stretch your imagination and eat a broader variety of foods every day.
